Bath & Body Works annual ‘Candle Day’ event is back, lasts longer

The highly-anticipated annual Bath & Body Works Candle Day sale is back, and this year, the retailer is changing things up for the better.

Bath & Body Works announced the sale on Twitter on Wednesday, saying that the “annual candle day is an entire weekend.” In past years, the event would only occur over one day.

For the sale, all three-wick candles, which normally sell for around $24.50, will be on sale for $9.95, starting on Friday. The savings is around $14.50.

The candles will only be on sale online starting at 6 a.m. EST on Friday while supplies last. However, the annual candle sale will run in stores Friday through Sunday, with many stores opening early, Bath & Body Works said. Store hours can be checked using the store locator.

Online, there is a limit of 18 candles per order, and the code CANDLE must be used at checkout to get in on the $9.95 deal. The deal includes holiday scents as well as Bath & Body Works’ other popular scented candles, which extends to over 120 options.

The candle deal cannot be combined with any other Bath & Body Works code-based offers online, and no rain check will be offered.

To ensure that customers are safe when shopping at its stores during the pandemic, Bath & Body Works requires all customers to wear face masks. The retailer is also limiting the number of customers in its stores at any one time and has implemented safety markers to remind customers of social distancing. It has also enhanced its cleaning measures and installed plexiglass shields at checkout locations.

The Bath & Body Works annual sales event comes after it held a similar sale on its three-wick candles in August. The $11.95 promotion received backlash on social media after users suggested that customers instead support small and Black-owned businesses that were struggling during the pandemic. Users said these businesses could be selling a better quality product at a lower cost.

Bath & Body Works did not respond to the criticism.
